Canada and Great Britain advance to final
Canada and Great Britain came through their semi-finals to book a King Power Quad Nations gold-medal match-up, on a dramatic morning of competition at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff.
The pick of the first session’s games was the second semi-final, which saw Paralympic champions Great Britain overcome European champions France in a tense battle that ebbed and flowed. Both teams made and forced errors in equal measure, and a narrow lead changed hands several times over the course of the match. With the scores tied at 50-50 at the end of normal time, a three-minute overtime was played. Great Britain were the stronger side from the tip-off and eventually saw off their rivals 56-53.
Earlier in the day, Canada maintained their unbeaten run to book their place in the final, beating Germany 53-48.
The afternoon’s games will see the medals decided and either Canada or Great Britain lift the Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Trophy.
